CRV - Clear Route Vision
This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
Clear Route Vision stores lesson completion dates and quiz scores, the selected vehicle type, mirror practice angles, language choice, and reminder preference on your iPhone. A random installation identifier and secret access token are stored in the iPhone Keychain. When a connection is available, the app sends the installation identifier, lesson progress, selected vehicle, and mirror angles to our server. The server stores a hash of the access token rather than the token itself. We do not ask for an account, name, email address, precise location, or contacts. Our Railway hosting service receives network requests and may process IP addresses, request metadata, and operational logs needed to deliver and protect the service.
How we use information
The app uses local information to keep lessons, quizzes, simulator settings, language, and optional reminders working on the device, including offline. The server uses installation-scoped records to synchronize progress and settings when connected, authorize access to those records, and honor deletion requests. Network and operational information is used to serve requests, check service health, diagnose failures, and limit abusive installation requests. We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs.
Service providers and sharing
Railway hosts the application service and PostgreSQL database and processes request traffic and infrastructure logs as our hosting provider. We do not sell personal information or send lesson records to advertisers, email providers, or social networks. The app uses Apple's local notification system only if you enable reminders; it does not use remote push notifications. No geographic map provider is integrated.
Data retention
Lesson progress and simulator settings remain on the device until you reset progress, delete all data, or remove the app, subject to iOS storage behavior. Installation credentials remain in Keychain until you delete all data in the app, subject to iOS Keychain behavior. Server installation records and progress remain until an authorized deletion request succeeds. We have not set a fixed automatic expiry. Railway may keep infrastructure logs and database backups under its own operational policies; we cannot promise a specific log or backup retention period or immediate removal from backups.
Deleting your information
Use Settings, Delete all data to request deletion of the current installation and its progress from the active server database. The app clears local progress and Keychain credentials after the server confirms deletion; if the request fails or you are offline, it keeps the data and displays an error so you can retry. Continued use after successful deletion may create a new, empty installation. Reset progress clears local quiz results and synchronizes the empty progress when connected, but keeps the installation. Removing the app alone does not send a server deletion request. If you cannot access the app, contact Wainwright1999@icloud.com with your request; without the installation secret we may be unable to identify a particular server record. Backups, if retained by the host, may not be individually editable and expire under the host's policies.
Permissions and your choices
Lessons, quizzes, the glossary, and simulator do not require device permissions. The app asks for notification permission only if you enable weekly local review reminders. You can turn reminders off in the app or withdraw notification permission in iOS Settings. The app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photo access.
Your privacy rights
You can review your lesson results in the Progress screen, reset progress, turn reminders off, change the app language, and request deletion through Settings. For questions about your data or privacy rights, contact Wainwright1999@icloud.com. Access to server data is tied to the secret held by your installation; we cannot promise recovery if that secret is lost. Your applicable legal rights may depend on where you live.
Security
The app connects to the server over HTTPS. Each installation receives a randomly generated access token, held in iPhone Keychain; the server stores its SHA-256 hash and checks authorization for each private progress or deletion request. Server inputs are validated and request sizes and installation creation are limited. Local progress is stored in standard iOS app storage. No system is completely secure, and we do not claim a certification or guarantee against every risk.
Children’s privacy
Clear Route Vision is designed for learner drivers and other road users, generally aged 16 and older. It is not directed to children below 16, and the app does not ask for a birth date or verify age. If you believe a child has provided data through an installation, contact Wainwright1999@icloud.com or use the in-app deletion control.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app, backend, or hosting practices change. The effective date at the top of the policy identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, when practical, in the app. Contact Wainwright1999@icloud.com with privacy questions.
